Google Insight Audit Fail - SEO - Ensure text remains visible during webfont load

Hi Balbooa,

Currently, all sites created by Gridbox, fail Google Insight audits, as fonts can be displayed invisibly during the load.



It's been a common practice for a while to add "&display=swap" at the end of the GoogleFont URL, to prevent this (and will therefore pass Google's audit).

Could this please be applied, so that websites created by Gridbox are rated better by Google Insights.

Try to enable Deferred Loading in Gridbox performance. I think this should help. Let us know the results

Unfortunately, deferred loading didn't affect the fonts, and the audit still fails for "Ensure text remains visible during webfont load"

Surprisingly, deferred loading also increased the blocking time, and made the Google Insights Audit worse, decreasing performance from 79 -> 69. I tried running this a few times and found the same results.

Hi Artem,

Making Google Insights happy with a website, is a step in the right direction for SEO (and good performance scores make Gridbox look good).

The only two high/red audit fails on Google Insights (on my Gridbox sites) is this font loading issue, and short browser caching:

I think both issues require a relatively small amount of work, are low risk changes, and would remove the only high/red audit fails from Google Inisights that Gridbox currently has.

We will take into account regarding &display=swap, but to be honest I'm not sure that it helps to seriously boost your site.

Thanks so much for the speedy response, and for making your customers happy
I know it's only a small change, but Google Insights flag it as a high priority, and it's good to be able to show my customers their website has a good performance rating without any high-level warnings.

You asked for a link, was this in relation to the deferred loading? If so, I was using the following:
www.dimeto.co.uk

By only turning on the deferred loading option, according to Google Insights, the blocking increased, which caused the performance rating to be reduced from 79 -> 69

1. Does the Gridbox caching, Gzip Page Compression and System Cache in Joomla global configurations are enabled?

2. Try to enable Lazy load for pics
