We had the same challenge and approached it from a different angle. The Balbooa forms extension supports check-out and payment as an option. This means that you can use the forms logic functionality to build practically any calculator that you need. In our case it was automating quotes for a construction company but the possibilities with the Balbooa Forms are quite wide.

Basically, if you have a formula for the relationships that affect price, it´s super simple to build in Balbooa Forms.

Yepp, it´s 100% Balbooa Forms + some logics and a checkout function. There is so much flexibility in Balbooa forms that it´s pretty much the imagination that sets the limits.
