For sites with many pages, having one list becomes challenging especially when you need to organize multiple services that use same headings for its page.

Example

I have a site with 6 services
Each have a lot of pages
Some have same page titles (ie Overview)

It would be great if we could create a folder for each section and then place related pages in them

This would also improve the alias as the folder name could now be part of the keyword structure of the alias and of course, easier to mange many files

Site.com/service1/overview
Site.com/service2/overview
Etc.

Sorry, I am not understanding what you mean by "6 pages app"?

My understanding is that there is only ONE Pages app with no ability to create additional Pages APPS... where I can customize them by groups as previously described in my example.

Can you pls explain more?

Thank you..

See the screenshot sent earlier

I see, yes - 6 services.

But ideally I want to have 6 separate Pages Apps in order to group the pages by service.
This is where I am uncertain - are you saying I can create duplicates of the Pages App and rename them?

If so, how is the Pages App duplicated?

Example on video

Use "Move To" to move pages

Thank you Vyacheslav

I had always assumed the Pages APP was not able to be created in duplicate.

I get 150% now LOL - thanks for the time and demo

Hello, this is interesting, however, I see no way to rename the new Page App instances?

Sorry, I see, the first one cannot be renamed but the new instances can be. There was no gear on the first Page App so I did not see that option until I opened the new one.

Hello,

The first (created by default) cannot be changed or deleted.
You can only remove or change the new ones (which you added).

Hi Vyacheslav

Thanks again for helping on this.

I do have one more question...

This solution does work to organize pages into smaller groups, but it does not address the ability have unique alias urls with folder/subfolder names - such as how Zero App does for example.

domain.com/service1/overview
domain.com/service2/overview

Instead pages with same titles in various Pages apps will all display

domain.com/overview
domain.com/overview

I wanted to ask was whether it would be possible to add ability to create folder structure within the Pages App - or alternatively, create a new APP that functions like Zero APP but allows free layout ability to page like Pages does.

Hi Vyacheslav

It appears your suggestion to duplicate "Pages" App is not working.

Although I can create multiple "Pages" Apps, rename them and place pages into them, the problem comes in when assigning menu links.

For example, if I select Menu Item Type - Page - only the pages from the default Pages APP are available to choose from.

I select Menu Item Type - Category - nothing displays.

Can you confirm if this is a no go based on above or possible workaround?

This is why I am asking if an APP that works like Blog or Zero (where folders can be created to nest pages) and therefore be sected using Category menu type is possible?

Really just need the page layout flexibility that Pages provides, but with the folder structure/category usage that Blog and Zero Apps provide.

I have been following this conversation because I wanted to split up pages for easy organizational reasons. I created multiple Page Apps and have no issues adding them to the menus.

When I go in Joomla's menu system and add a new page, the list of pages comes up with all the new Page Apps listed and when I click on one the pages under them are listed for selection.

Thanks Dave

I was trying to update a pre-existing menu item and can only see the pages listed under the default Pages App.

However, when I create a new menu item, I now see the Apps and their corresponding pages as you do.

I guess adding the Apps after the menu items somehow caused this disconnect?

That must be some glitch. Did you change the App and then try the page? I can see them.

I'm thinking cache related - it's working now :)
