Testing BaGallery free version v. 1.5.4 for PRO purchase on:
  • Joomla! v3.6.2 Stable
  • PHP 7.0.11-1+deb.sury.org~xenial+1 (ubuntu)
  • nginx/1.10.1,
  • fpm-fcgi.

1. Error 500: Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 134217728 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 67108872 bytes) in /usr/share/nginx/html/libraries/vendor/joomla/string/src/phputf8/utils/unicode.php on line 204

This is a php error...set php.ini from 156MB to 256MB:

2. Error 0: PHP regular expression limit reached (pcre.backtrack_limit).

3. Set Search Engine Friendly URLs off in global, gallery now works.

Q: How to work with SEF?

Hello Chris,

Try to increase pcre.backtrack_limit in php.ini file
Tomorrow we plan to launch Gallery 2.0, it's absolutely new gallery, so I recommend you wait a bit :)

Increasing the pcre.backtrack_limit was the third thing I did, but didn't mention in post. It had no effect.

Looking forward to v2.0 per your email.

v2.0 looks better

Unfortunately, with Search Engine Friendly URLs enabled, even with BaGallery v2.0, the error persists: 0 PHP regular expression limit reached (pcre.backtrack_limit).

I increased the default PHP limit by a factor of 10x from the standard limit of 100,000 up to 1,000,000. Same exact error.

I increased this limit again by another factor of 10x up to 10,000,000, with SEO on, and it works. There are only 32 images in the gallery with a total size of just a few MB's. But anticipating using the gallery in virtuemart for ~ 100 products with an average site user load ~ 100 users that limit just isn't safe.

Many discussions on this type of error at stackoverflow recommend rewriting code with multiple regexes to solve the issue and leave the limit at the default [or reasonable] level.

Like to know your thoughts.

Here is an example of the Gallery 2.0 which include more than 8 600 images:

I'll be glad to check the problem, but unfortunately your project is located on the local host

Just purchased/installed the full pro version of 2.0, unfortunately same result with Search Friendly URL's "on."

Vyacheslav, I've whitelisted your IP. Please register an account so I can approve your access.

Looking forward to see your account request.

Interestingly I just checked a product page where I have one separate bagallery 2.0 living inside a Virtuemart product page (inserted in the main description area). It does NOT exhibit the PHP regular expression limit reached (pcre.backtrack_limit) error like my main menu gallery link does.

I'll tweak some things while I wait for your account request.

Hi guys,

I think I found the problem.

The main gallery, the first I created, is somehow corrupted. I noticed yesterday broken image icons in the edit but the images showing fine on the site.

I created a new article and menu link, same result.

I pointed the main menu item to the second gallery folder id=2 and it works with SEO on.

I will delete the first gallery completely and create it anew and report back.

SOLVED.

I completely deleted the corrupted gallery, its ftp folder, etc, created a new one (without an underscore in the title) and uploaded new images, assigned to article as Gallery, pointed menu to article.

Working wonderfully.

Thanks for you support and patience while I worked through this issue.
