Hi,

At the demo not a question mark (?), because it is iframe,
if open not in iframe, question mark (?) will be , you can see here:

http://www.balbooa.com/demo/gallery.html?you-probably-havent

It is necessary for the social sharing,
This makes it possible to copy the link to the picture in the category

If you care about SEO, iframe it's the worse solution, it's just a recommendation. But in any way, here is tutorial how to add Iframes in Joomla articles.

you need to create 2 articles, into First article add Gallery shortcode and into second atricle add Iframe with link to the first article, which include gallery shortcode

But also, please check this topic:

i agree that iframes are bad, so how do i let google know about the pages and get seo juice? when i go to the url with the question mark the canonical url is still the main gallery page (menu item)...so basically google just consider the menu item page as the gallery and all the rest are the same but just with a question mark...it is bad seo practice if you wan to show the world about your gallery or even put links to the different categories
don't you think?

It's your business, I showed you 2 different solutions, so you can choose what's better for you

Inside each category you can add description (SEO content), also for each image you can add alt tags, I think it's much important for SEO :)

Hello,

Yes, In the latest Gallery version, we added option Enable Alias

If option not picked, url in the lightbox will be without "?"
Also, options - Social Sharing and comments will be automatically disabled

The "?" with url is removed from the Lightbox, It works as it should work.
If you want to remove all links, and category URL too, here is solution

Step 1. Go to: components >> com_bagallery >> assets >> js >> ba-gallery.js
Step 2. Find and Remove all lines with: window.history.pushState

Hello,

Yes, after Gallery update, file will be overwritten, so you need to backup file with your customization.

Option was added only for lightbox URL's, because, in the main,
customers asked about hiding URL only in the Lightbox

ok, here is the problem, i want that the gallery will be SEO friendly for Google, users, and also that i will be able to link to categories...so how this url is going to be SEO friendly and considered a good link by google?:
www.website.com/gallery/catefory?
question mark in url is considered bad url for SEO and for users, users have difficulty to read the urls
it will also be duplicate content because this:
www.website.com/gallery/ and this www.website.com/gallery/catefory? are basically the same page but read twice
does it make sense?

Yes, it does make sense, because users use links to allow visitors to navigate from external pages / resources to specific category or image in the Gallery.

I'd also be interested in how to remove the "?" from the URL.

This is what mine looks like: /support/videos-test?quick-setups

No, I can't show you any sites, by simple reason - we do not collect and do not tracking websites of our customers.
If you need to remove URL's you can do it without any problems :)
