Gallery Module

I'm just playing with the gallery module instead of the gallery component.

If I put an image with no description, the image almost completely fills the screen. If I add a description, the image is tiny.

Is there a way to change this?

What I'd actually like is something like you suggest here:

If you could advise on the CSS changes, I'd be grateful.

Hello,

Add to your template custom.css file next code:
.modal-description {
    position: absolute;
    bottom: 0;
    background: rgba(255,255,255, .8);
    opacity: 0;
    transition: 0.6s;
}

.ba-modal-body:hover .modal-description {
    opacity: 1;
}

Hi

Thanks for the quick reply. I'm not sure it's quite so simple :)

The CSS I have for the description box in this case is:

fancybox-title fancybox-title-inside-wrap

Yes, that's the one. The link in the module to the documentation comes up with a 404.

I'd also like more of the image to show in the thumbnail. Is that possible? If not, no worries.

Here is a code:
.fancybox-wrap.img_text .fancybox-inner {
    width: inherit !important;
}

.fancybox-title.fancybox-title-inside-wrap {
    background: #F9F9F9;
    bottom: 0;
    opacity: 0;
    padding: 25px;
    position: absolute !important;
    transition: .3s;
    z-index: 999 !important;
}

.fancybox-skin:hover .fancybox-title {
    opacity: 1;
}

But I recommend you to use Gallery component

Yep, that's almost done the trick. I just need to play with the CSS to get the image the correct size.

Thank you for that!

That's all working perfectly.

I'd be interested to know why you recommend using the gallery component. I much prefer the module from what I've seen.

Hi,

1. 6gallery module is no longer supported
2. Gallery component provide much more options and is much more flexible

You can try it on our demo: www.balbooa.com/showcase/extension/gallery

Just installed it and done a bit more experimentation. I had looked at it before but I'm lazy and the module seemed to do everything I wanted much faster. Now I've spent some time on the component I have to agree that it's much better.

From a UX point of view, the admin side has some issues, and there are some simple features that I think would be really nice, but it's a fantastic component.
