Move Gallery folders without loosing Link in Joomla article

Hi

On a School Website we are working the following way:

1. In every single class site we are showing the main Gallery-Folder including the subfolders with pics from the events the class had in the past year

2. This Main-Folder is linked fix with the class site and should stay there to show whats going on during the school year

3. Now we have a new school year and the old pics in the subfolders should not appear anymore on the specific class site because we have new students and new events.

4. So we need to empty / delete the passed events-folders

5. But we can not delete them, because most of the single folders are also linked fix in Joomla News articles to show the gallery also in News. (see screenshot 2)

So what we actually need to be able to do is the following:

1. We need to move the subfolders (see screenshot 1) to an other main folder named "archive" away from the root of the single class. So we have cleaned the main folder up and these old folders wont appear anymore on the class site.

2. The moved folders should not loose there IDs or Link, this to prevent that the linked galleries in our News Articles wont disappear. (see screenshot 2) We have a lot News Articles and re-link all galleries wouldn't be possible...

Is there any chance to do this so? Or have you an idea how to solve this?

Hi and thank you so much for your very quick reply.

Actually we are missing this option (see screenshot) Is this because we have Version: 2.3.3.1? Will this be fixed in your latest version? 2.3.4?

And the second question: If we then move this galleries, does the link will be lost / the gallery gets a new ID?

This option is only available when using albums

We activated Album-Mode and now we see the button "move to". But we still can't move the album to another Gallery (see screenshots)...I'm I still missing something?

If finally we then can move to another Gallery, does the links / ID of the Album keeps existing? (to avoid loosing connections in the news articles)
