I wonder if it is possible to choose a single picture folder to be displayed in an article. Not the whole picture album, simply a sub folder.
Ich have a big structure concerning my pictures (see screenshot) and I only want to display one of the folders in an articel.
Is that possible?
Thanks Jochen

I think I still have not understood. I cannot select a subdiretory in the editor, I only find the 1-level album names. When I click on it, I donĀ“t get the second mask with the subdirectories.
What do I make wrong?

I found out about the problem.

When I click on "All" I see the subdirectories now, but I don`t have a "Save" button on bottom of the form. But that is not so important, now that I see the ID of the subdirectoy folder, I can make it manually.

The save button is not provided there, you just need to click on the desired category

Thank you for your feedback. Since I didn't realize that myself, maybe that would be a good reason to think about the userbility of this specific function.

But I have other problems, unfortunately. I would like to achieve the following:

In an article, a single album should be displayed with the start image. If the user then clicks on the image, he can call up the album. This works if only the gallery is included in the article:
[gallery ID=3]

But I would like to show a single sub-album with start image, the embedding is then done via
[gallery ID=3 category ID=8]
But this does not work, because all images of this sub-album are displayed immediately. The ID 8 has no password.

If the sub-album is also password protected, then nothing appears, the area is displayed empty. The ID 42 has a password.
[gallery ID=3 category ID=42]

I have shown both in this test article, so you can have a look at it on the website, just above "Test article".

Is there a solution for these issues?

To do this, we would recommend that you use multiple galleries (instead of sub albums)
