Hi Balbooa-Forms-Team,

according to your excellent article "How To Track Click In Joomla Forms With Google Tag Manager And Analytics? " www.balbooa.com/joomla-forms-documentati...anager-and-analytics it should be possible to track events with the Google Tag manager easily. However on clicking buttons no events get fired. -

Even if I configure the Click trigger with a Click Element ➝ matches CSS selector ➝ .ga_submit_button .ba-form-submit-title the click Element Object show [object HTML Element] and the Data Layer Message shows as gtm.elementClasses: 'zmdi zmdi-mail-send' - which seems to be the icon shown on button mouseover.

What am I missing?

Hi Vyacheslav,

I followed the steps a couple of time. No success yet.

Using the following command in the Chrome console after a button click:

google_tag_manager["GTM-MYID"].dataLayer.get("gtm.element")

I do get

<i class="zmdi zmdi-mail-send">...</i>

It feels natural because this is the overlay icon I do see on button mouseover.
Please, could you provide me with the element you do get here?

Hello,

Check the results in your Google account (not in the console)
