problem with multiple calculation fields

Can multiple calculation fields be used?

For example

I do simple calculations in field # 1 and field # 2. Then I want to add the result of the two fields. So I create a third calculation field, and in them add field 1 + field 2. And it doesn't work for me, it doesn't give the correct result.
