Hello, I am having trouble understanding how the post navigation plug in works.

When I use set up the posts in custom order, they appear correctly in the post slider but when I click on one of the posts, the page navigation is incorrect.

The order is set to custom and the list of posts is in the order I want them in the category folder.

Why is it not working correctly? Is there a setting I have missed.

I have set to show featured only, but it doesn't make any difference if i turn this off.

I have tried turning off compression and caching - no change.

Could you please let me know how I can fix this.

Thankyou

There is a lot of content and it really needs to work.

Hello,

This is because you are likely to duplicate posts and they have the same date and time of creation.
You need to change dates.

Doesn't make any difference. Several sites, various dates, posts, all the same behaviour.

Hello,
Thank you for contacting us

Your become duplicated, because they have the same date and time of publication

You need to change the date or time in the post settings.

That is absurd. The post navigation should work on posts / categories - there would be thousands of sites that publish information on the same day - this cannot possibly be the way it works.

Please check, it is beyond my comprehension why something would work like that.

Also, regardless of the data of publishing the nav does not work on ANY of my sites.

The nav doesn't work or at least I have no idea of the logic. Saying there are duplicate dates makes no sense. A lot of content comes in at the same time. The nave doesn't seem to pay any attention to the category or the article order. Really it just seems to put everything in randomly.

What is the logic?

My content is set out in Category, the Article Order. In core joomla I can specify the order I want the content to appear but it seems not with balbooa - is that the case?

Do I have to manually adjust each date regardless of the accuracy?

Could you please advise as I have hundreds of pages of content.

I have altered some of the dates and now find the nav just throws the dates together regardless of the category?

How do i get posts ordered by category and post order? when i click on the option drop and drag order - it only seems to show every single post without any clue as to what the category is? is that correct? how can categories be ordered with posts ordered and so that categories actually follow the category order and not just randomly just to the next post date?

Hello,

The probability of coincidence of the date of creation of posts up to a second is very small.
Describe step by step how to repeat your problem.
Or send a video that shows the problem.

does it not run off joomla core?

I am still having trouble with the post navigation and you have not satisfactorily addressed the issue.

How does it work? Joomla core orders by Category, Article (order) and Date.

Balbooa seems to only order by date and completely ignores the category? is that correct?

This is becoming so ridiculous that you cannot answer this question or resolve the problem across most of my sites.

What do I have to do to fix this?

The process I use is:

1. Create Post or Import from Joomla, then add to relevant App category
2. Post

That is all I do.

This is a problem on clean sites as as well as site that have been converted from another template.

Could you please address this problem urgently.

It makes the ordering of content and the use of the post navigation completely useless.

Thankyou

Hello,
Thank you for contacting us

At the moment, navigation works like this:
Post navigation display two posts adjacent by date,
regardless of the category,
limited only by the app in which this post is located.

So does that mean, the post nav works within the category by date?

This seems to be very archaic and really should use the core joomla functionality so that I can order the posts as required. Otherwise the post nav is of little value to any site with complex content.

Post Nav is hugely beneficial if it works with the core joomla features of being able to manually order within categories.

Do you have a plan to make the most of the powerful core joomla features?
