Store checkout not working

Our subscription checkout isn't working... we added Authorize.net and confirmed the settings... however, when someone attempts to checkout, the credit card and expiration date outline in red... we have tried multiple different credit cards that we know to work and it's not allowing us to check out.

This is what we got from our merchant developer:

so this is what is the error. I am not 100% sure how to correct it but essentially its not submitting the card information to authorize.net due to this. I believe its expecting the date format differently. (see attached)
