Hallo Guys,

Is there any possibility to have OpenStreetMaps as a Field choice instead of Google Maps to use in in Zero App and Store App. I am truly sick of Google constantly changing rules and then your websites maps are not functional or in test mode.

It will be great to have that option especially in Zero App.

Kind Regards
Stephan

Hello, this is really kind of important as Google is so restrictive and having a map field is useful. Can we please add this asap?

Thank you

Also, the documentation is outdated for creating a Google Maps Key and I can't get one to work. Google is super annoying to deal with.

This is all I get when trying to enter a location in the field.

Hello,
Thank you for contacting us

In the console (F12) you can see the error (description of the error and how to fix it)

The documentation is still outdated. There is no "get a key" button. It would be much easier to just OpenStreet Maps for simple map inserts.

The error says

This API project is not authorized to use this API. Places API error: ApiNotActivatedMapError
developers.google.com/maps/documentation...-activated-map-error

The help page on Google is zero help. No idea what needs to be fixed. I created a whole new key and The API is enabled. The stats say no errors, but yet there are errors.

Not sure why we can't just get an OpenStreet option? You have the Apps already just not in a field implementation. I've spent an hour on this and it's extremely frustrating working with Google. The developer console is super complex and annoying to deal with.

The beauty of your system is it's fast and easy to use. But then I run into this bottleneck and am pulling my hair out. I know you guys like helping the users to provide solutions. I know the store is front and center but there are a few documentations and updates to Zero App, etc. that might be useful. I've not seen any updates to this so far.

Thank you

The Maps JavaScript API is not activated on your API project.
You may need to enable the Maps JavaScript API under APIs in the Google Cloud Console.

If this doesn't work please contact google support

Hallo guys,

I also had a serious ploblem with the API for Google maps. Everything was in place and all the boxes ticked. Site was verified etc. My issue was that my card that was linked to my payment of my Google account was not up to date.

After fixing that, all my sites linked worked again.

I still would prefer OpenStreetMap above Google.

Hope it can help.

It was activated, actually, your documentation is wrong. You must have two APIs activated for Maps to work. Otherwise, you cannot set the location. That's why I was only seeing Boston on the frontend but could not change it.
