My subscription is terminated, but I can not download the updates that were released until the end of the subscription ends. I had understood that when I signed the gridbox I would have all the updates until the end of the subscription, and that after the deadline, I would not have access to the new updates, but the old ones, within the subscription time, would still have access.

Sorry, but this is not clear on the purchase, nor the information on the site. In the information on the site is that when I finished I would only lose the updates and not the installation and its resources.

"What happens after my subscription ends?
Our products will still work as usual but you will get access to the latest updates. "

I'm sorry, but important information of this should be in the description of the product and not in a hidden FAQ, I feel cheated.

Afonso,

I want to assure you that this is a standard approach on the market. Also, I want to note, we provide lowest price $59 for:

- 1 year subscription;
- unlimited domains installations;
- unlimited updates;
- 15 themes;
- more than 45 plugins;
- almost every week updates with new features.

Explore the Joomla market and you'll see the price in $180 - $300 for the same conditions

I know all this, and I think the Grid Box is fantastic, but this information that is important is not in the signature, it is hidden. Sorry, I understand but I still feel cheated, not only because this information is hidden, but the information in the signature implies that I would continue to have access to all system resources and would not have access to the new features created and new updates .

Hi, so my subscription has also just run out.

I am in middle of developing a site. What you are saying is I am unable to complete it without continuing to pay you.

What if I want to add another App page down the line to the same website. I am not talking about new features, but the ones that were there when my subscription was valid.

Your price arguments above are nonsense. The Joomla model has always been about subscription for getting updates, which drives a project forward. Not ransomeware!

The GPL open source principles of Joomla are meant to be free, not as in beer, but free to use the code as you like without limitation. which is about having the same functionality as day you got it.

When I purchased your software I did so on basis that I was getting the pro features and functionality, and when my subscription ends, I still get to use them. No one in right mind thinks it only means your website still works, but can't add any more pages.

I like what your extension does, but I am not going to be tied to such leverage.

Darren,

I'm wondering where did you get this?

So I am doing an offline website using MAMP

I do an Akeebabackup and install 2 versions of a website I am building to compare.

The first website has created 2 Apps, a page and a blog. The second website has only a page App created.

Now the subscription has ended, I go to add a blog to 2nd site, the log in pops up, and as previous user says, get the subscription expired message and can no longer create a blog.

This is the point right - the features paid for no longer work, and you can't take what you paid for and use for another site you own or want to develop. These are the fundamental principles that make it a ransomware not a Joomla open source project

You are talking not about creating new pages. You are talking about installing PRO functionality

Yes, PRO functionality (Blogging App) you need to install during the license period and after that, you'll be able to create an unlimited number of pages and blogging apps on the website, without any limitation in time

During the 365 days, you could install Gridbox PRO features on the unlimited number of websites

Explore the market! Usually, for price +/- $59 developers limit by 1 domain!

So to be clear..

Are you saying that whilst subscription is valid, you can install any of the pro functionality of this extension to a website, and once the subscription ends, that website retains those functions, with ability to add more pages as well as get future updates to the grid box extension for that site, but can't create any new apps?

Daren,

I think you don't understand the difference between installing PRO features and creating/adding a new page or App.

Let me explain, App's it's a PRO functionality, after installing Gridbox, to start using them you need to install them.

How to install App you can see here:

The app you need to install only once, during the license period. After App installation, you can add/create the unlimited number of Apps even without an active subscription.

How to add/create a new App you can see here:

The same with all Gridbox PRO functionality,

PRO functionality should be installed during the license period after that it could be used without a time limitation

Most developers limit support for 1 domain, not same as installing on limitless domains, as not allowed under Joomla GPL licensing

This does not seem to be case.
I created a demo site in MAMP did all you say with active subscription, and worked as you say.
I now go do same and as go to create an app it asks again for login, with expired message

Please check my post above and try to find the difference between App installation and creation. I have noted many times and will write one more time - that before using App on the website you need to install them once (like you installing App's to your smartphone), installing can be done with an active subscription, during the license period! After installation, you can add/create new apps without any time limitation.

If you want to install PRO functionality on the new website you need to have an active subscription!

This discussion isn't really resolving anything. The fact is I do understand how to create an App and add pages to that App. I have done so with an active subscription, and it works as you say, but does not work once subscription expired.

Your terms as previous user states are misleading and not transparent enough for most Joomla users, who rightly believe that the GPL license terms should be adhered to, which you are not by fact you limit functionality and 'free to use' rights once subscription expires. What your business model demonstrates is a freemium, and not allowed under the license terms, no matter what other terms you try to add. It simply is not legal!

So the only way anyone can get round your imposed limitations is as follows:

1. Get a 6 month subscription
2. Create a demo site and install all Gridbox functionality, including all templates, plugins and blocks
3. Get free version of akeebabackup and do a site backup
4. upload the backup to any new website and install demo site
5. delete the templates and pages you do not want

Then your new site will have all pro function, and according to earlier post, get unlimited grid box updates in the future.

Maybe this can help you
The first website has created 2 Apps, a page and a blog. The second website has only a page App created.

On the first site, you can add new apps and pages, because you have installed App during the license period, and there you'll be able to create new apps and pages without any time limitation. On the first site, you are still can use all PRO features, even with a not active subscription

On the second site, you are trying to install App, but you can't because your license is expired.

There is a big difference between installing and adding. Installation can be done during the license period, after installation and can add apps even without a subscription.
